OK, before I do this root for the metro phone I have a few question. I have a few question which I do not see answered, Im sure its somewhere, I just do see it.

1. Is there a clockworkmod recover for the root?
2. Does titanium back up work for it.
3. does all the roms and themes I see posted work for it.
4. Are you able to back the phone up on a sd card befoe the root?

hey peeps. for those that said they can't get it to work or it made your phone run slow I feel ya. I couldn't get it to work either and when I did finally think I had it working it made my fun run really slow and it still wasn't rooted. so I retried and retried and finally got it work. just followed the instructions for click root.bat but the only difference was my phone had to reboot 3 times not 2. first boot was when it said "file push" then it said rebooting. then 2 reboots afterwards. rooted! ty

and after the 3 reboots, did the phone come back to normal speed? and camera working?

i tried but lost my camera function and phone went slow, i factory reseted (all setting in again.....) back to stock and all working but a root is still not happening for me... (ZTE T81)

I have tried cmd prompt & .exe batch....no bueno
after several days and attempts, my Anthem [android 2.3.5] is still just sitting there in FTM mode with nothing happening.
and after reading this entire thread I am seeing a few things that should be clarified;
1- the ZTE Anthem phone only has 2 USB connections types...charge & USB storage mode.
2- if the PC doesnt see the phone in FTM mode...then this process will not work.

like many of the ppl here, I am also stuck at the FTM screen on my phone...because my PC does NOT see the phone when its in FTM mode.

I have downloaded the ZTE USB drivers to my PC...still nothing...the PC wont see the device at all unless its booted normal and I select USB storage mode.....but that's the only option the Anthem has.

I watched the video of the guy rooting an Avid phone and I noticed his PC 'dinged' when he plugged the USB cable into his phone, that was in FTM mode! ...that confirms that my PC is NOT seeing my Anthem when in FTM mode...and thats a show stopper.

Soooooo....maybe I am missing something, but I suspect many of the others that are also stuck at the FTM screen are needing the exact same fix/work-around.

anyone?? ...this is the only thing stopping all the users that are stuck at the FTM screen.

It didn't work because your on a rooted phone, I'm sure its not any big update, the avid is kinda old and probably wouldn't get a newer version of android if that's what your wondering.

Same here I have no idea how to work this on Mac. I tried the OP instructions, tried the Linux instructions and i get nowhere. I have mastered most commands etc. on Windows to achieve root, flash recoveries, push/pull files, etc, but when it comes to Mac, IDK anything.

When i download the file its already named 6 ... I still extract it and when i start the command and put CD.. CD.. Cd 6 it says the system cannot find the path specified plz help

to root any android or iphone, u dont need no long process just google out vroot download and download the english version of it.believe the software can root any so called android phone,tablet or aple devices in less than a minute
