Help Sudden bootscreen, factory reset and bootloop

Greetings,

Today my Nexus seemingly broke down. While in a lecture, my phone suddenly started showing the "colored-squares-flickering-startup-screen". At first I thought it might be a screensaver activated by some unknown source, but no, the touchscreen didn't react. I held down the powerbutton, and the "Power off phone" box appeared. I pressed outside of the box to make it disappear, but then I got a fancy little message, saying something like:

Encryption failed. You need to factory reset your phone. You will lose all the data, but the data synched with google will be restorable after the factory reset.
(of course, not the exact words. That would be unprofessional, and I would suspect malware).

I though to myself, what the..? Oh well, factory reset it is.. But that was easier said than done.
The factory reset started, and when it finished, it tried to boot up again. Then the phone went in a boot-loop. It vibrates, the black screen with "Google" written on it appears, it goes black, and then the same vibration. And it goes on like this.

I booted the bootpage (vol+ vol- and power-on) and chose recovery. The only thing the phone displays after a few seconds, is a seemingly dead android figure, with his front hatch open, and a red triangle with a exclamation mark in it. After a while with this screen, it tries to boot again, and the same boot-loop returns.

I haven't got a clue what this is all about, but it seems google went a little far with their SOPA blackout (heh..)

Anyone got any ideas at all?
Sorry about not having pictures to display (forumfilter, and no camera other than...the phone), but I tried explaining it as short and simple as possible.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Ole Henrik

this is a known issue as far as i can tell and it seems to be erratic across GNex. i would return the phone

Ah, I see.
I've been in contact with Samsung, and they asked me to return the phone. They didn't seem to know if the problem is known or not, but I'll return the phone as you say.

Thanks for the reply :)
