Help suddenly dead camera under 2.2?

i got the OTA and all was well. definitely used the camera since it installed.

today, i go for the camera and get a black screen. i see the focus box, but no on screen image. i hit the shutter button just to see if it would work blind, and the app froze. i could exit out the home screen, but eventually it would ask if i wanted to force close the camera.

no other apps installed. tried a power off reboot, no good. tried a power on battery pull, no good.

Try going into the gallery app and see if you have any strange looking photos (corrupted files) and delete them. This happened to me too a while back (on the froyo leak) and it sucked cause I was without a camera during my entire vacation. But when I removed all my photos afterwards, it suddenly worked, and I noticed a few that were not playable on my computer because they were corrupted.
