Root Suggestions for 2.2 ROM

I just used Kies to update my Captivate. I then rooted it using the one touch root method. I installed clockwork. I'm trying to figure out what ROMS will go with my official 2.2 .... I see 2.2.1 i see 2.2 I've downloaded apex 5.3 and got worried that It was not compatible with 2.2. Can someone suggest some of the most stable ROMS for me?

you will need to go back to 2.1 to flash any rom. it doesnt matter what you are on right now, a rom is basically the complete os so it will replace anything you currently have on your phone

so you are telling me I need to use odin to go back to 2.1? and then reroot... re install clockwork and install a 2.1 rom? I don't understand

Yea pretty much. Use Odin to flash your phone back to what it would've been like when you first got it (running 2.1 Eclair and unrooted), then go through the process again for a new ROM.

Where can I find a good sbf file to use to get back to 2.1? So I use odin to flash the software, but where can i find the file to put in odin that will put me to 2.1? What's the process?

I flashed for the first time today and here is what I did to get back to stock.

I followed the instructions for ODIN for 1010+ builds since my build # was 1010, yours my be different though. Basically the post had the files I needed to revert to stock so i downloaded them(zip file included Odin 1.7, and proper PIT and PDA file to revert to stock), opened the shortcut to Odin,connected phone in DL mode, and put the PIT and PDA files and clicked start.
