summary email/gmail droid issues

ok...this is just too odd....i only have a gmail account on my droid. and i have sync enabled at all times. however i find that sometimes i need to send an email to "wake up" the application and receive emails from hours before.

what in hell is causing this.

sometimes...no email/no emails/no emails....go on browsers...boom 5 emails come in.

thought gmail was push

@jeffruby i am having the exact same issue with my Droid, have you found a solution ?

are you using any of the task killer apps?

If you kill the wrong things sometimes the email app stops picking up untill you manually kick it.

Yup. Deleted task killer. Email push now

Is this just today you have been experiencing this? It seems GMAIL overall is a bit slow as I just received an email that was sent 9 hours ago (on the website, not the phone).

Have had a bunch of messages come in at once as well. Others are coming in immediately. Not sure it's a Droid problem as much as a GMAIL problem at the moment.
