Root Super One-Click

First, let me say that for now -- I am not interested in changing ROM's on my phone. There are a couple things that I want to do, maybe someone here can point me in the right direction.

1. De-Bloat my phone. The Verizon pages upon pages of apps drive me crazy, and I know lots of things are running that I could care less about.

2. I want access to use the WiFi hotspot without paying Verizon $29.99 a month.

Does Super One-Click work with the Charge, and will it help me accomplish what I want to?

Now, before you tell me to read/search... I can tell you that I have and the amount of information is overwhelming! I'm looking for a simple way to accomplish those two things I posted above.

Any help is appreciated.

How to root:

Once rooted, you can either load a debloated ROM or download the paid versions of either Titanium Backup or MyBackup Root and freeze all the bloatware.

Then download WiFi Tether for free in the market.

Imo, loading a debloated ROM is the easier option and it's free.

Thanks for the advice. Can anyone confirm if Super One-Click works on the DC or not? Part of my confusion is selecting a ROM (debloated or not). So many options and I don't totally understand the good/bad of each.

Super one click doesnt work.

I dont tether so I have no suggestions for you on it. However the following is what I used to root my phone and it was fairly easy.

Follow the directions Chadness posted on the Android Central forums here
[HOW-TO] Get a rooted version of EE4 - Android Forums

Instead of flashing Clockwork and a ROM you can flash package number 3 from DroidXcon's post here. It is just the stock kernel rooted and the voodoo lag fix

[Odin]EE4 various packages Read Carfully before flashing - Android Forums

Direct download of the package

After flashing the kernel and rebooting the phone to apply the voodoo lagfix you can freeze the bloat with the app of your choice.

If you run into a problem with your sd card being write protected after rooting use the patch and instructions here
