Root Superuser App NOT WORKING!!!

I flashed Super Z Rom tonight and it's been pretty stable. One problem, when I opened superuser it said there is an update and it failed installing it and it placed it on my SD card. I needed to go into recovery and flash it. I tired, it aborted and failed there. NOW I don't have a working SuperUser app and obviously NONE of my root apps work. Anyone have any insight to this? I've tried clearing data and cache, didn't help. I've tried downloading superuser from THIS THREAD and flashing it, didn't work. Once I flashed that SU, it completely removed the original one from my phone so I went to the market and installed the one there. It put SU back on my phone but it still gives the same error message. I just spent 4 hours flashing Super Z and it seems to work fine, I'd hate to go back if there is an easy fix. Anyone???

When I try to flash the update it says E:Can't open /sdcard/su-2.3.1-bin-signed.zip (bad) Installation aborted.

I'm on ClockworkMod 3.0.0.5

Can you restore your old Superuser from Titanium? Dunno if that will help, but it might be worth trying before you go bck to a nandroid.

failing the restore, you might try flashing it with clockwork 3.0.0.8(wich has alot of bugs worked out, supposedly),and failing that, you might try it with clockwork 2.5.x.x or with RA_GNM.

assuming you dont have a functioning rom manager to flash RA or 3.0.0.8,go to doug pistons site and download them there to use as PB31IMG files and flash in hboot. yuo are S-OFF,right?

Yes I am s-off. I ended up reflashing. Pain in my a$$ but it now works. Thanks for the reply not sure how that happened. First time in the thirty or so times I've flashed new roms.

interesting. ive flashed just as many times(or more ) and never had that prollem, but im making mental note in case i see it :p

just to make sure i understand,so you did nothing other than reflash that same rom and it started working again?

Had the same superuser problem. No root access given to various apps, superuser says need to update, but when attempting to do so, su stated problem updating and file ways downloaded to SD card and that I needed to boot to recovery for installation. When doing so, the flash would fail.

I reflashed the ROM (the amazing GingerTheory), and all was well. I formatted the system partition per Gingertheory developer recommendation in addition to the normal, wipe cache, dalvik, and user data.

Thanks for this thread, it helped me solve my problem. I just wanted to confirm.
