An error occurred and su was not updated. A zip file (su-2.3.1-bin-signed.zip) has been placed on your sdcard, please reboot into recovery mode and flash it to update your su binary............... What does this mean? I can't access titanium backup or rom manager and it won't let me install busybox.

It means boot into Recovery Mode (Power off phone, hold down x while powering back up). Once in Recovery (assuming you have CWM), go down to - install zip from sdcard. From there, select the su-2.3.1-bin-signed.zip. Select yes. After, reboot...
