Root Superuser Permissions

I just did a "One click root for eris" and all went well and I was reading the replies to find a way to make sure im rooted and while doing so I found someone saying if you have superuser permission you are rooted. Me having rooted my droid x/x2 in the past knew that was a app. Went to go open the app and it opened to a black screen and doesnt load the app. What Do I doo??

After installing the 1-click root app, did you either install a custom ROM (any of them would have superuser integrated) or did you flash the rootme.zip file that is on your SD card?

(The SU app iteself requires other tools to be installed on the phone as well that the rootme.zip file will install.)

The 1-click root app installs a custom recovery on the phone that allows you to install root tools, but doesn't actually incorporate them into stock unless you flash that rootme.zip file.

I figured it out it was blank because I had no root apps installed yet. So I quick installed a screenshot app then opened superuser and it showed the app there. i thought it just wasnt loading.

I did the rootme.zip. If I may ask a new question what is the best/fastest and newest ROM out for the Eris?

There are a lot of great ones. I've been reading about issues with apps like the official Facebook app on stock 2.1 ROMs like xtrSENSE or xtrROM. The two major Gingerbread ROMs CondemnedSouls CM7 and GSB are both great.

Fast and Eris are, unfortunately, oxymorons. However, all four that I mentioned are faster than stock.
