Ive been reading that Android 2.3 may be coming out soon. If this is true will EVO be able to upgrade to that version?

I would assume the EVo would have no issues being upgraded to 2.3 because it is a very powerful device. That said, like above, I have not seen anything official either way. Though I would say taht I have to guess Sprint and HTC will want to get this out as another big selling point for the Evo.

I would rather see them fix the 4G than release 2.3 for the EVO.

My friend has a Droid form Verizon and he just got 2.3 pushed to his phone.

You mean 2.2, not 2.3. 2.3 is not released on any device.
The EVO may get the update, but I honestly would be shocked to see it before February. It took HTC 3 months after Froyo arrived to release their own update.

Ok.. i guess it was a motorola update for droid 2.2. The update was called 2.3. Kinda confusing. Sorry guys
