Svoice for the S2 'problem parsing package'

I followed this thread in xda forum and 'successfully' used CWM to install
the zip file.

[MOD] [V1.3] Hacked Galaxy SIII S-Voice (Voice Talk) - xda-developers

In systems/apps i now have an .apk file for voicetalk (svoice). But when i try to install i get 'problem parsing package'.

Can someone more experienced in these things know what i need to do please?

Another option is to set the permissions a certain way, but i can't find how to set them - i have androzip and long pressing doesn't give me that option.

I didn't delete the other voice apps yet in case this doesn't work.

I've seen this question being asked on other forums but no answers unfortunately.

Cheers!!

That error usually means a corrupted file or if replacing an app that it's not properly signed. I have this downloaded and installed on my device so I know that it does work even on non Samsung phones.

Thanks for replying. Any chance you could let me know where you downloaded from perhaps? And did you have to use cwm or you just downloaded the apk file?

I keep hearing that you have to put the apk into systems manually, unless you downloaded the cwm zip compatible version like i did.

Would LOVE to have this on my phone, you lucky bugger ;)

Molluscs!

Force closes constantly and trying the various fixes i found online didn't work - root explorer wouldn't let me change permissions or view system/build.prop as text etc.

Guess i am still a noob after all. Gave up in the end and re-installed shitty vlingo (thank you Ti Backup!!).

:(

Done pt2! And it works. Had to download the 'signed' version, now all is good. Still crashes once in a while but fun to use (it knows who Angela Merkle is but not Obama - a right leaning app?!).

Got to keep vlingo too as i need this for the car holder options (calls on loudspeaker etc). Awesomeness.
