Swapped TBs yesterday.............

Just went to Verizon store yesterday (after 2 hours of talking with Tech Support on the phone), and exchanged my TB. Ignoring the fact of 4G net cutting in and out (have been told software update is coming soon), i was sick and tired of my bluetooth connections. The phone shows all the time, it is connected, but it actually was not. I had to turn that thing off and back on again, in order to be able to use it.
After the exchange (keeping my fingers crossed, still :) ) i did NOT notice any single 4G drops as of yet, and my bluetooth works just fine.

Hmmm, my swap didn't yield any better results as far as me losing 4G connectivity. How soon did they say the update would take place? It seems like deja vu with the whole "soon" thing.....Let's just hope Best Buy isn't taking pre-orders on updates..... :p

Im wondering the same thing. I get 4G cutting in and out when I'm at home which is in a spotty coverage area. My Droid X used to do this as well which is one of the reasons I got rid of it. I'm thinking the fix will come with the official GB update.

An update will probably come very soon, like in next 30 days soon. I doubt it'll be Gingerbread, that's probably not till around June. But the next one will prob fix any glitch bugs with 4G, Bluetooth, call quality, and battery consumption. I'm patiently waiting for GB with the new version of sense.

Hi,
I had similar issues with my TB, It would very rarely get any network signal.
After Calling HTC and doing battery pull, Etc. They said to get a replacement!
Verizon wanted to try things before giving me a replacement.
First they did a battery pull, this time the 4G network came to life, maybe because of the repeater in the store?
I left and did some shopping, lost all network connectivity. Went back to Verizon, and when I got back to the store the 4G had come back. So after they called tech support and got bumped to level 2 tech, we found out that indeed many TB's are having this issue! They changed my SIM card. 4G seemed good for the rest of that day. Next day at work, little to no signal. I again lost all network 4G,3G,1X. So I went to another Verizon store and told them the problem. Guess what they said 4G's working in the store so there is no problem. I was pretty annoyed by then, I overheard one of the Verizon coworker's telling a client to shut off 4G when you are out of area to save battery. So then I tell him to do the same and he would see I had no 3G.
But he was arguing that it's a 4G phone running an App or turning off 4G wasn't acceptable. So I asked if there was a manager because this employee was not even making sense. I asked if I was supposed to stay in the store so I would get good enough signal so I could actually get internet, some great smartphone without Data! Finally I told him to ask his co-worker to help clarify what I was saying "he had a TB" and he switched it to 3G in the store. Guess what no signal, yet the original Rep said it didn't prove anything! I said that the co-worker did the 3G switch all the time and got signal, so if mine was working properly than it would too. Finally the manager and co-worker decided to do a Factory reset, wipes all my data and Apps! But guess what after that I now had 3G in the store! So it now has been working for 2 days so far!
I did not want to wait for an update because I only have 14 day return!
hopefully this might help other find a solution, to go to 3G install an App called phone Info, then switch to CDMA Only. That was the one the Rep didn't like, so I said there is a phone access code to do the same thing ,this is just a shortcut!

Had the same problem but no 4G in my area so I lost all data. Vz. Had me do a factory reset over the phone and every thing has worked fine since.

Yeah, Verizon, for some reason does not want to swap the Thunderbolts. I did not have so much trouble with exchanging my Dx before. Your story is the exact copy of mine. But, after I went back to the store with my Bluetooth connection problems, all I got was "I am NOT swapping your phone until that software update is out. It has to have something to do with the Bluetooth, I am sure". So, I thought to myself; enough talking to that "bamboo", which can only open back cover, and roll my phone in his hands. I called VZW tech support, and after an hour of explaining to them what is going on, they told me to do hard reset. My answer was that I already did twice today. It helped for about 20 minutes, and all started over again. So they told me, either they can send me a replacement, but I have to pay upfront for it, then they going to return my money after they received my faulty unit. Or, they can call my local store up, give them the authorization for my exchange, and without a wait, I can get brand new one. She put me on hold, and after another 30 minutes, she said that store Manager must be busy, cus he cannot answer the call now. But she will call them back again, and after that, she will let me know. Another 2 hours passed by, but finally she called and she said, I can go to the store. So I went. Believe me, they were going insane nuts, trying to prove I am wrong, and phone is perfect. They even opened 2 new Bluetooth headsets, and all were working like a charm!! So I told them, that I am not trying to make all of it up, and this is a perfect example of the visit to dentist office. All day one goes around with unbelievable toothache, but finally when one gets in front of doctor's office, pain is gone!! How many of you have been there? Let

if you are in a spotty coverage area what do you expect? I mean the coverage isnt going to magically get any better if you were in a bad coverage area before.

I thought you guys already had the new version of sense

Had my thunderbolt since yesterday and lost data this morning. On 3G though since 4G was killing my battery. Restarted my phone and it was fine. I also had this happen all the time on every droid x I had. I'm just dealing with it as much as it can frustrste me at times.
