Swiftkey X

I've been using Swiftkey X Beta for a while now and it's great. Yesterday it popped up saying the Beta version was about to expire, so I bought the paid version. Just wondering if anyone knows how to import what the Beta version has learned into the paid version to save having to start from scratch? Any help with that would be great.

Thanks a lot.

If you update to the newer release, all of your language modules will be there on your sd card. So, updating Swiftkey to a newer version should not affect anything;)

Updating to the newer version will further enhance the keyboard recognition of how you type:D

Thanks for the reply Andy, but unfortunately it hasn't worked as you've said. The full version and the Beta version are two separate apps, so there are data files on my SD card for both. I'm sure it must just be a case of copying and pasting some / all of the data files, but I'm just not sure which ones to go with.

I upgraded to the full version and it said it was replacing the other one and all user data will be saved.

That's strange, as with 2manyPhones, I didn't have any issues with updating the application. Maybe try and use a file explorer, such as ES File Explorer, and combine the 2 folders into one. See if this solves the problem

This is exactly what I did and has worked perfectly:)

That's the same for me :( I have the swiftkey beta, swiftkey, swiftkey x beta and now swiftkey x *sigh* and they are all different apps...none asked to import the previous version data when I installed the newer one....I want to uninstall all of the other apps as I won't be using it but I want my data!

Random note: Swiftkey has become Swiftkey X. Anyone that purchased Swiftkey can install Swiftkey X for free. I believe Skiftkey is discontinued for Swiftkey X :)

Casanunda, can you see if moving the data from the others to SKX works? I'm too lazy to test that out XD

FWIW, Swiftkey X is free today in the Amazon appstore.

I can't get it for free from Amazon, this is the message i get.

We are sorry... We could not process your order because of geographical restrictions on the product which you were attempting to purchase.

That sucks :mad::mad::mad:

You need to be in the USA to use the Amazon market. There are some threads here that will tell you how to get into the Amazon App Store. I am the phone so I am unable to link you the thread. :(

Just to compare and contrast, I disabled Swiftkey X in the Keyboard settings on my phone. I then tested a bit with the old keyboard. I then re-enabled Swiftkey by checking the box again. It did not enable the Swiftkey keyboard again for some reason. Am I missing another option? I couldnt find any other option to reenable Swiftkey.

Open up an app where you can type a message (SMS app). Long press on the white input box (where you type) and you will get an option call 'Input method', select and you will be given all of the keyboards you have enabled. Pick Swifkey X as your keyboard of choice to use :)

Hope that helps!

Cheers,
Roze

Aha! So...the check mark in the Keyboard settings isnt saying which KB to use, it just "enables" the keyboard so you can choose it later. Thanks for this.

:) No problem, I had the same issue when I started using my first 3rd party keyboard. 5 emails between myself and the dev until I understood what the heck he was telling me, lol.
