Swiftkey x

Has anyone installed the App "SWIFTKEY X" its an alternative keyboard from the app market, I have had it installed for months, but have noticed the last few days that the keyboard itself wont actually come onto the screen when I go to type a message, or use the internet, basically anything that involves the keyboard having to load. I have tried contacting the app creators, who has said its an issue with my device???

I am now stuck using the stock android keypad. I have done the usual simple things such as switched back and forth from both the keypads, but nothing seems to work.

Any ideas????

Thank you!

I know it probably doesn't help you, but it is working fine for me and I haven't noticed any recent problems -- use it a lot. Droid Incredible, rooted, with CyanogenMod 7.11 ROM installed.

not sure what you meant by "usual simple things" just checking though, have you tried:

reinstalling Swiftkey?
Clearing Swiftkey's App Cache?
Clearing Swiftkey's App Data? (this last one may clear your predictions so be careful)

Took your advice, and evetually got it sorted, I have started as if I have only just downloaded the app, but at least it works!! Thanks

I'm glad you got the SWIFTKEY X keyboard working again!

I had a similar issue a couple of months ago to where SWIFTKEY X wouldn't remain as the default keyboard. I could use it, but, I would manually have to select it to use it, as the stock ANDROID keyboard would always pop-up as the default keyboard.

I tried out several keyboards other than SWIFTKEY X to duplicate the problem, & couldn't, as the other keyboards would remain as the default keyboard.

I believe an update from SWIFTKEY X is what eventually solved the problem. Not sure if this particular bug was addressed w/the update, but, whatever it was is now gone & it works perfectly.

SwiftkeyX works for me, but it won't stay as the default keyboard. I have to reset it every time my phone reboots, which is unfortunately far too often. That's my only real complaint about it.

I'm having the same problem as sgosnell. SwiftKey works fine, but won't stay as the default keyboard. Has anyone found a fix?

I have a Swiftkey X issue and figured this would be the appropriate thread for it. I love the keyboard, but there are certain fields on websites where it does not give me word predictions and I basically have to type like a regular keyboard. I have searched the settings and don't see any way to resolve the issue. I am running stock ICS on a Verizon Galaxy Nexus and would appreciate any advice. Swiftkey works great in e-mail, text messages, most apps, and on some (but not all) websites.

Anyone?

One of the sites I can't get it to work on is all of the sbnation sports blogs. Whenever I try to comment there, I can't get word prediction to show up. It is annoying.

You could try reporting it at SwiftKey.net. I only notice predictions off in fields like email address entry, where it would probably be counter-productive, so I guess this site's text box is being mistaken for something like that.

Thank you. I e-mailed the developer and got a form e-mail back with links to FAQs for several known issues. It appears this is a big problem with the Galaxy Nexus so they are obviously aware of it. Hopefully they will fix it. I am glad I only paid a dime for this app back when it was on sale in the Market. If I had paid full price, I would be pretty angry that it doesn't seem to work for my phone.
