Help Switch APN On and Off

Lurker
I have downloaded many widgets that claim to turn data on and off but none of them seem to work. When it's "turned off" I go into Wireless & Networks/Mobile Networks and the checkbox for Data enabled is still turned on and shows T-Mobile as the network operator. I have already searched the forums, and exhausted Google. I tried all of the suggestions, but none of them seemed to actually work on the G2X.

Here is my problem. In a 1/4 sq mile area around my and my neighbors house we have no 4G, no 3G, and usually at the most 1 bar of service, however that comes and goes depending on time of day and other environmental factors. In fact it's so shady I usually use Wifi Calling for all of my calls and text messages when I'm home (I work from home so that's a lot!). They sent my neighbor a free repeater, but we can't get the thing to work... What signal are we supposed to repeat when there's no coverage? ...The problem I'm having is apparently from 2am to 6am when I'm sleeping my phone and network service is great my phone decides to update and what not and I am going over my 200MB throttle cap. I only have 200mb because, for one I'm on a budget, and two I have no real data here so why pay for something I'm not using but maybe once a week? I spent 4 hours on the phone with 5 T-Mobile techs trying to get them to answer a question yesterday. "If I disconnect from the T-Mobile towers, and use my wifi calling for all phone calls, text messaging, picture messaging, and data will that cause any interruptions in my service (i.e. late night emergency calls or texts) and what's an easy way to accomplish this". Nobody could answer that and instead kept telling me I had apps running in the background using my data... I ALREADY KNOW THAT!!! So I'm hoping you guys can help. I have tried several APN on/off widgets but none of them seem to work. When it's supposedly turned off, I walk down the road, leave my wifi coverage, and start hitting towers automatically. I don't want to go through the menu's every time to manually do this and instead would prefer a widget or shortcut. Is there anything that is out there that you guys have tested that works?

If I understand you well, the power widgets do not turn off your mobile data.
I had the same problem being on LG's stock rom, I can tell you the same I did
here: Click, use Cyanogenmod!

This is not the first, nor the last bug of the stock rom.

If I did not get you, let me know!
