Switch clocks or remove it entirely?

Is there a way to remove the clock from the homescreen? Or can I change it to a digital clock - I'm not a fan of that old style flip change clock... ick.

Yeah. Long press on it, and then drag it to the "Remove" box at the bottom. Go to the "+" icon on the bottom right corner, and add either an Android or an HTC widget clock. I use the tiny rectangular, digital clock as it's just as easy to read as that humongous, default one, and it sits in the middle of my home screen, using less space so I can have a little more room for more shortcuts to apps.

Or, you don't need it at all and the digital time on the top right of the screen is good enough for you.

Based on someone's recommendation on another thread recently, I switched to the Beautiful Widgets clock and it sped up the functioning of my phone a little.

I like the flip time, but I've learned to deal without it. I like the little extra speed better.

I don't even have a clock widget anymore. Is it that hard to see the time in the upper right hand corner? I'd rather use my space for more important apps/widgets than one that is already telling me something I know. Just like a battery meter app, why? You have a battery meter in the upper right hand corner at all times. But, that's my opinion. :)

Yep. Got it. Thanks. I didnt know that you could drag and move the clocks. The key is to press and HOLD. Thanks peeps.

Hey, where can one get more apps? I'm lkooking for more science-geeky related apps like a dopplar radar and Bible verse one.

Just go to the Android Market through your phone. There are plenty of ways to search through the apps to find what you want.

I noticed that nearly all these apps are labeled as 'free'. Does this really mean they're free? I don't want to get a surprise bill later by Verizon. I have an unlimited data plan.

Yeah, I was going to say.. I just got an update last night.

It was only gone a few weeks.

This one definitely not free. Its 0.99 Euros or about $1.40.

I like it. :-)

Yeah, Beautiful Widgets is back on the market ... and definitely worth the 0.99 Euros. Very nice looking design, and with the latest release the clock face is skinnable, so there are lots of different looks available.

My favorite clock overall, though is an app called Analogy Clock -- check it out. A widget version is supposedly in development, and when it appears it's going straight to my home screen.

Very cool. How do I find these?

If you've got it installed, be sure you have the latest version, and then click on the weather part of the widget to see the full-screen weather display. Then hit the menu button, choose "configure," and you'll see a button called "skins" down at the bottom of the next screen.

Excellent.. I've been trying them out. Didn't know that was there, but it says the skin support was just added with the update yesterday. I wouldn't have known it was there anyway probably.
