Switch to Battery % View?

Hi all,

I picked up my Evo for $229 at Radio Shack today and Im loving it! :)

Quick question. Is there a setting to display the battery status as a % instead of a bar? Alternatively, is there an app for that? I dont want to have dual battery monitors in the status bar, I want to replace the one thats already there.

Any help appreciated and I look forwards to 'working' with you all. :)

The only way to do it is to root your phone and flash a ROM with the modification or download an app that'll put a second battery percent in the left corner of your notification bar. You could also root and flash a battery modification

Thanks, I figured as much. Im a little gun-shy to root as I only just got the phone today. I have rooted an Intercept and then the Triumph so Im not adversed to have a go. i also read that we could install Google Now (Androids Siri) if rooted and on ICS.

Hmmmm - I think i will leave 'as is' for now until the newness novelty fades.

Thanks!

There is another way, its not quite the same but can serve the same purpose.

With Elixir 2, you can create a status bar widget with some toggles or w/e, and include a a battery level shortcut. Then set the notification icon to battery level. I prefer the Elixir widget to the built in quick settings.

Hope this helps!

EDIT: I guess I kind of ignored G19's post, but that is kind of what he was talking about.
