Root Switchable framework-res?

Is it possible to switch the framework-res.apk files from one ROM and install it in another?
Like ej06 framework with Fe16?
If so how can I possibly do this? Could it be as simple as flashing a cwm zip of the new framework that deletes the old one?

flashing does delete the old one the copies the new u could give it a try it might work just make another flashable zip with the old framework in it incase it doesnt work and boot loops so u can just flash the old one back i personally never tried it i always edited the frame work that came with the rom

It can technically be done, but will most likely lead to boot looping. The framework-res is pretty much ROM specific.

I wouldn't recommend it. But if you do, please do post results.

for sure i will.
lolz nothing like experimenting with a phone right? lolz.

i like posting results.. it always helps.
ima make a back up of the old framework res like someone suggested. thats flashable. and make one of the newer one or older one in this case.

PS. does anyone have the stock framework-res and framework jar for Ej06 still?
can you upload that for me please? ty in advance.

Adding those 2 frameworks will cause a boot loop, you might not even make it to the boot animation.

Ej06 has ciq in it, so by adding those you'll have 2 files trying to access ciq shit in other files that doesn't exist, even if you did boot up half the phone will be fc'ing. The resource id's are probably going to be different too and would cause a boot loop even if everything else went fine.

If you still want to try just use Odin to get the files.

i still wanna try.. im pretty interested to see some results..
the thing is.
theres more then two framework files.
framework-res
framework.jar
then there are two other ones.. i just noticed them a bit earlier...
so im thinking of doing those too.
i was able to succesfully change the messaging app.
to the one in ctmod 3.6
though it does not install when you do it manually.
i went ahead and deleted
mms.apk
mms.odex
(cleared cache and data on it first)
then i went to dalvik and deleted the dalvik cache for it
and then i went into /system/data/data and i deleted the mms folder
( its kinda like /sd/android/data)
and now its working

my sms hasnt been working though...
but it hasnt been working for a while now.
even before the switching. and the swapping.

There was no bootloop. But the boot sound did come on and there was lotsa vibrating.
It stayed on the Samsung logo.
.

This time I'm only gonna switch over framework res
And framework jar only

I did them both and it would vibrate play startup sound and crash.
It was fun for me to do even if it was a dud.
