Help Switching between 'home' and 'work' modes

I've just been given a Samsung Galaxy SII by my company. I'm brand new to Android, and want to use the phone for my personal life too.

ie I don't want to get work calls or see work email in the evenings, weekends etc. Specifically I plan to use the phone as a sat nav on holiday and don't want work interruptions ;)

Is there a way of setting up the phone such that I can switch between modes/profiles or something?

Any help much appreciated.

i know that you can do that with HTC phone .. using sense.... totally different homescreens for different environments.

but with samsung.. you will have to make do with settings....
in your email.. you can setup many accounts.. to update/refresh.
on your business account.. set it to only update during business hours.

you can create groups for contacts... business group. then set ringtone for it.
you can find apps to send that group calls directly to voicemail during off hours.

welcome to the forum and android.

Welcome to the forums :)

I'll move your post to the Galaxy S2 subforum, users there may be aware of a way to do this.

In the mean time, you might want to check out an app called Tasker, the scope of that app is amazing.

For example, when I've connected to my home wireless network, I have it set so that disables my security lock. Likewise, when I'm connected to the Wireless connection at work, it will lower the volume of calls/notifications by half.

It's worth doing a bit of reading on it as it may do what you want it to.
