Switching from s3 to Note 2/3

I plan on selling my s3 and using the money to pay for an upgrade fee/note 3 when it comes out.

Now my phone isn't rooted but I have all my apps, music, contacts, photos etc on it and I want to know if its possible to transfer it over to a note with the layout staying the same.

And if this is possible to do say I want to sell my s3 in a few days, get a loaner phone until the note then upload everything onto it. Samsung kies doesn't upload or back up anything on my laptop for whatever reason, is there anything else I could do?

For the apps you could check out the Helium app. I think(?) It works between phones. Pics etc save to an sd card. Contacts just make sure theyre syncd to google :thumbup:
