Help Switching Messaging

How do I switch from the stock messaging to handcent as a default because I keep getting messages from both!

theres a thread called "which sms are you using" here on the LG optimus M thread where I say that I had the same problem. Anyways, go to the stock sms app and hit menu>setting>notification and click it, I did that and had ur problem but hopefully u wont! hope it helps!
