Swype Beta

Here's my question, if Swype was pre-installed on my Photon, I can't seem to figure out how to upgrade to the new beta version.

Anybody know if it's possible?

If it is like my Evo, and it comes pre-installed, you have to root the phone and delete it before you can install the beta.

Forgive my ignorance, but what's the difference between Swype and the continuous input swiping that's built in to the Galaxy Note 2?

it just feels a lot more polished, but like I said swype is beta at the moment so if your happy with the stock slide keyboard then stick with that one :-)

I've used SlideIt on my old HTC Wildfire (froyo) phone and the stock Sammy slider keyboard seems miles better than that so I'm happy and will stick.

Thanks.

i had the impression that the continuous input on the note 2 was swype o_o

Samsung's swipe keyboard lacks many of Swype's useful functions. The Swype beta looks pretty, but there are several things that have been simplified from the Swype I had on my Note 1 and S2 that make it more of a pain to use. Swype upgrades should at least allow you to choose it to have the useful functions of previous versions. So I've taken the Swype apk from my Note 1 and installed it on my S3 and Note 2, no problem. I removed the Swype beta.
