Installed Jelly Been Tonight Because The Constant Nags We're So Annoying, And Now Swype Is A JOke.
You Can See It Likes ToPut A Capital On Every word, And If It Puts Wrong Word In, And I Choose Ann Alternative Offered It puts That Word A Beginning Of First Line.
Hopeless.

Anyone Else Seeing This, It's practically Un Usable.

I installed swype but then I also flashed a t9 number keypad (predictive keypad for contacts) and it broke swype. Swype's keyboard doesn't even show up, even though it is still set as default.

Hm, I just flashed to JB yesterday and reinstalled Swype. It's mostly working fine for me.... sometimes the auto-space has decided not to work, but other than that it's business as usual. Maybe try nuking it and reinstalling?

thanks for the replies.
I just swyped a text message OK, but cannot get online at my current location to check forum entry is still hopeless as it was last night.
I haven't restarted my phone or updated anything though.

Well Let's See. Nope. Is OkTexting, Posting In Browser Is No Good.
Press And Hold To Select And Replace A Word Is Rubbish, And IF I Delete That Selection, The Selection Status Behind Selecting More Text....

Even stranger is that last night, instead of nicely spaced words but all caps first letter, Swype decided to not bother with the spaces, so would write:
"HelloWorld" etc.

Had a few issues with Swype, not entering text, also adding .com when swyping the comma to the space bar, and filling in web forms can be a problem sometimes.

Using Galaxy Nexus with 4.1.1

In the last week I've noticed my Swype not wanting to do caps automatically and often not automatically spacing between words all the time like it did before getting jelly bean.

After JB OTA update, Swype turned useless in the Browser (capitalization, missing spaces, copy/paste/change word/select all etc. not working).

After a Swype reinstall it half works in the Browser now: word selection and changing words is find, capitalization is good, but automatic spacing still doesnt work (indepentently of the Swype auto space setting).

Hope that the Swype folks get this done, coz I still prefer Swype over other tools (I tried TouchPal which is fine but usability-wise, Swype is so much smarter)

Be interesting to know what the difference is with your JB/Swype and those that are having no Swype problems. It seems as if there are different versions of Swype out there (possibly some need to download the latest Swype Beta from the Swype website) and even that there might be differences between JB OTA and some JB ROMs that cause Swype problems.

was having trouble locating swype settings in jb.
went to text settings, and text message setting box appeared and there was the option to select swype(which if you have been using for a while and enjoy is difficult to back from) and upon initial tests, seems normal.

I installed Swype Beta version 1.0.3.5809 today from beta.swype.com and I am running it on a Galaxy Nexus with 4.1.1.

When I first got my Nexus I had no idea Swype was available - even in beta - so I purchased SlideIT after trying SlideIT and Touchpal out as replacements for Swype that I loved on my old device.

SlideIT was similar enough to Swype for me to like it and everything was going fine with the paid version. Until just last week or so, for some unknown reason SlideIT stopped working with voice-to-text. No updates that may have caused this, no explanation no nothing. It just stopped. I am working with SlideIT it to try to solve this.

Back to Swype.....while SlideIT is down and out I am thrilled to be using Swype again. It just seems to understand my motions better and the predictive word function works good enough to use every now and then. HOWEVER, Dragon Go voice-to-text is just PAINFULLY slow. Everything about it. The boot up time I am sure is less than a second, but seems to take forever compared to Google Voice Search and SlideIT. It seems to take a good 3+ seconds to figure out I am done speaking. Other programs are significantly faster than this. The voice recognition is about as good as the others. Just the wrapping at the start and finish make it seem like an antiquated function.

Love using Swype again, but PLEASE fix the voice-to-text functionality soon!

It does this to me when using it in the browser. Txt msg and tapatalk it works fine though.

Me too. Whatever Swype uses to detect different types of fields (text vs password vs URL) is not working correctly.
