Does motorola not offer a swype feature?
I cant seem to find where to enable it anywhere?

lower-left corner icon: press it
also, go to keyboard settings, lots of options there, including tutorial

the button wasnt showing in the lower left corner like ive seen before because my atrix came in multi touch mode.
However you were right if you go to KEYBOARD SETTINGS (which i somehow missed earlier
) you can then enable swype and a lot of options.
