Swype now available for all!

Actually, it looks like they just opened up the beta program again. Good advice though, grab it while you can before they close the latest beta program!!

Well, it's beta, but you don't have to wait to be accepted into the beta like before. :P

It keeps telling me either I am not on an adroid phone or goto the email I got from them. What am I doing wrong? Thanks
 
My keyboard wont change even after I check the box for Swype in Keyboards. But when I do the tutorial it lets me...

did you change the input method? (HINT: you didn't). just press and hold in any place you can enter text, I usually just hit the search button. in the menu, you'll see an option call "input method". Select that, and you should be swyping away.
 
wow..i was using slideIt,,and loved it over my wife's swype on her droid X, this new version is much better than before and comparable if not better than slideit. the back space can eliminate words throughout then sentence, no more inconsistency with the voice translator as well...well done!!!!!

I had this same problem! I was able to fix this.

Open your internet browser and select menu,
Then select more,
Then select settings,
Check the box that says mobile view,
Enable mobile versions of web pages.

"They" probably "think" you're opening the email from a computer
This should fix this.

I already have this beta version. Can't believe that only OEM phones will actually GET the released full version! That sucks! I get to be on the beta team, but not get the finished product???
 
I'm confused, will these BETA versions ever be updated to full versions?

The beta versions will always be steps ahead of the official OEM versions. With the Swype business model, Swype will always be in the beta stage. I'd rather have the beta and receive updates, than have the official version and never/rarely see any updates.
 
Thanks OP!! I was so jealous of my family members with the Fascinate because they had Swype, and I had my POS Eris. Well...the Eris is one, and I just installed it on my Incredible!:D Thanks so much, and Happy Holidays!!!

Tried out the Beta and just couldn't get used to it. It was inaccurate and I spent more time backpeddling than anything. For those who like to spend time learning to type all over again and love using 1 hand in portrait mode... it's probably great. For those who use two hands in landscape, swype still has a ways to go.

As with previous open beta programs with Swype, there will be many new people here trying it out for the first time so I have a little advice:

1. Do not delete the email! When/if it locks up and you need to reinstall, having the email handy is a huge time-saver!

2. Bookmark the Beta-FAQ as it very helpful and always seems to have the answer.
