Swype problem

If I ever turn my phone off or it runs out of batteries, the swype is disabled as soon as its back on. I have to uninstall both the installer and swype app, reset my phone and then install the beta again. Any solutions?

Yes, and it's checked as the keyboard option. Maybe I should rephrase. The swype keyboard is there, however, the swyping motion does not work. I can only type the letters individually.

ohhh. im not sure on that. I had that happen to me before I got a beta invite. i had just given up on swype at that point.

it shows the trail too doesnt it? it just doesnt actually "swype"

It's possible you have the wrong version somehow.

Try this, though, instead of uninstalling/reinstalling:

If Swype doesn't swype, go to any text field and change the input to the standard keyboard, then change it back and check to see if Swype now swypes.

My phone does this on occasion. I find all I have to do is long press on a writable space select text input, change it back to stock and then do the same and change it back to swype.

This is a widely known (and complained about) problem with Swype -- dozens of entries on the Swype forum about it. For whatever reason, it disables "swyping" when you reboot (power cycle) your phone. As JasonWin noted, all you have to do is to select a different entry method in any input field and then change back to Swype; no need to uninstall and reinstall (although that will do it, too). It would be nice if the developers at Swype would finally take care of this; it's been a known problem ever since the first public beta, I believe.

Same thing happening to me and the suggested soloution of changing from swype and then back again isn't working.

Think i'll have too uninstall AGAIN
