Swype Question for Evo

I'm definitely diggin' Swype on my Evo, however I've got a question that hopefully has a simple answer.

My phone used to go to sleep after a minute, which is what I like/want. Since I installed the Swype Beta today, it won't. I have to go and tap my power button to make it sleep.

Is there a work around for this?

Just tried it and my screen turned off on its own. Not sure what your issue is, but are you sure its swype related in the first place?

I had a sleep issue too.i uninstalled the Swype installer and now it is sleeping. Not sure if that is why but worked for me.

Same thing happened to me. I took the battery out, put it back in, allowed the reboot and now everything works fine.

Go back and check your display settings. Perhaps something has changed. Reset it to whatever you like.

Yes. After you've selected Swype in your settings, once in your message window, tap and hold the "Tap to Compose" button and then choose "Input Method", Swype. You'll be on your way. Here's an awesome link to tips and tricks for Swype.

They're still there. I was going nuts without them too. Just slide your finger from the Swype icon on the bottom left to the button directly next to it and Wa-la!!

Ok I see the Swype keyboard now and am able to glide but once I let off the box has a blue light that lights up around all the letters but nothing is inserted in the text field

Same thing happened for my wife's phone. When you installed did a window come up saying installation unsuccessful or something to that effect. I had to uninstall swype and reinstall a total of 3 times before it worked on my wife's.

I would say try to uninstall and re-install and make sure it doesn't say installation unsuccessful.

Yes I had that problem when I installed it, I may need to uninstall it and redo it.

Same thing happened to me.. after swype, it wouldnt sleep. A couple of reboots later and it does again.. I am glad you brought that up.
