Help Swype Users Help please

have an issue that i cant fix..

when i power off my desire, swype no longer works. i have to re-install it every time.

keyboard pops up as usual, "trail" shows up for which letters i am passing through but it does nothing else.

anyone else experienced this and or have any recommendations.

i dont usually have to or need to power off but when i do this is annoying!!

I've found that after a reboot Swype has to be reselected, but not what you are seeing.
Have you tried just delecting as the input method, the reselecting? (long-press on an input window).

Yep exactly right ....... probably a bug.

Long press on text screen, Just select input method "Touch Input" then select input method "Swype".

and all will be well again

^ I can confirm both that problem and the solution. No need to re-install, unless you've changed ROMs

yeah get the same thing, i even have to reselect if I plug my phone into my pc, phone seems to lose a couple of settings when i do that.

Both Sky+ & Acast apps revert back to default app icon rather than the custom ones i have for them

dont know if its because i have them all on my sd card rather than on the phone to save space

I have Swype on internal memory, so that's not the cause of the problem. For the other 2 apps you mentioned, storing them on SD might well be the cause of their malfunction.

I have tried various keyboards and everytime i installed them on to the sd card i had problems, they would just not show up after turning off & on.

Then i installed them on the Internal memory and everything has been fine eversince

That's exactly what the problem is. When you connect the phone to your PC, as mass-storage, the phone has to unmount the card, so that the PC can mount it as a volume. If you care, moving them to internal memory will sort it.

I have the same problem with Swype, and mine is installed on the phone. Not a major problem more of an annoyance.
