Swype expired again. ShapeWriter is available in the market. I prefer to use a supported app.

Yup... I prefer to use an app from a dev that doesn't use the android market for testing and feedback and then take the app away for good.

Or a DEV that allows you to download a beta version of an app without informing you that it is a *trial* version.

Yeah I am done playing the up and down Swype game. I really liked their app but for the love of God how many times do they need to expire and rerelease something before giving it the green light. Everyone knows its amazing and game changing for touch screen phones, why are they dragging their heels?

I will gladly stick with ShapeWriter as it is on the market and does just as good of a job making texting not incredibly painful.

When Swype expired the other day i found ShapeWriter in the marketplace which I began to prefer until I tried to use a comma while typing. With the comma right next to the space bar in Swype's keyboard its much more intuitive to slide between it and the space bar where as Shapewriter requires you to do a hard press on one of the letters, unless I'm just ******ed and don't know of an obvious trick or easy way to do it. So until that is fixed I vote Swype.

you mean of course when we can get swype back of course, right?

combine they keyboard of swype and the output of shapewriter and its a perfect keyboard. swypes suggestion output is annoying and poorly positioned. then you have to properly swype the correct word. properly and accurately being key. i finf myself trying to swype the correct word 10 times before it either picks it or goes away and i have to start the word over. so far, i like shapewriter better...just wish it had swypes keyboard layout

Okay I am having trouble with downloading the latest version of shapewriter 3.0.9. I have the 3.0.8 version but it says that they will be taking shapewriter off the android market beginning 6/20. when I scan the qr on my N1 running 2.2, it cannot find shapewriter (I'm thinking this is a Foryo issue). I hope my current version won't expire or anything like that. If it does, then I will use Swype which i find to be pretty good but just not as good as SW.

Does anyone have the latest shapewriter apk that they can send me since it's a free app anyway?

I didn't really get how to use Swype when I tried it so I tried using ShapeWriter and I liked it and so far, so good. It does the job and I'm sticking to it.
