Help Swype wont "delete" words I add permanently.

First of all if there is a way to delete some words from the swype dictionary, please post. Last time I checked it wasn't possible and can't find any updates.
Now, I once added the word "tio" (Uncle in spanish) and now every time I want to spell " TO " it keeps spelling TIO. Now, I click on the swype key to delete the word and it lets me. Then after texting someone else the word comes up again. Now we all know how many times we use the word "TO" so this gets annoying very quickly. Is there a reason why swype isn't deleting the word for good?
This is what im doing to delete the word. When TIO comes up I double click on it so that it's highlighted. Then I click on the swype key on the bottom lower left of the keyboard and then it asks me, "Do you want to delete word TIO" and I hit OK. The word is still highlighted so I click on the backspace botton. Then I can see it's gone until Im texting someone else.
Im o.k with restarting the swype from scratch and deleting every word Ive added. if it's possible.

76 views tells me this isn't possible. Well this sucks. Im sure a few people have added words by accident and now have to deal with the headache of some words poping up over and over again.
Well can at least someone tell me how to get that stupid "TIP" screen to stop popping up. You know, that TIP screen that comes up that says, "Did you know you could delete this word..... bla bla bla".

Yes, there is a way to delete words you add to Swype's dictionary. Type in or swype the word, in your case, "tio". Then double tap it to select it, then press the Swype key , and it will be removed after you confirm the dialog asking you if you are sure you want to delete it.

If for some reason this still doesn't work, you can clear the entire Swype dictionary by going to Manage Applications and clearing data for Swype.

Nope. The word keeps coming back and back and back and back. No matter how many times you delete it from the Swype dictionary. Even if you clear the Swype dictionary, 'tio' somehow makes its way back in.

Annoying. And I agree with the OP that the stupid tips screen is terrible too. Too bad I like Swype so much otherwise, or I'd dump it.

I have the same problem on a Samsung Galaxy S with Swype 2.10.52.13630

In my case it keeps adding my contact names to the user dictionary. Deleting them works for a couple of hours then the words come back... It's really, really annoying...

I am actually so annoyed that I'm looking into writing a tool to delete words from the Swype user dictionary. Let me know if you want to help.
