Swype

Its not official but you can find it in the forums and install the apk file. I have it and love it. If only the vlingo mic could be added to it.
 
Just a friendly reminder guys, don't post the apk as it's copyright material. Swype's lawyers have asked that any site that has it please remove it.

Also, it would be wise to not ask someone to PM it to you.


No one has done either thing here... so good job!

I have posted it before, and never had an issue, is this a new thing from the swype guys? I would never intentionally post it if it were against the rules to do so...... I didn't even realize, if that was the case.....
 
Quite possibly. I only used it once for a few minutes... not nearly long enough to get a true feel for it.

Perhaps one day I'll try it and actually give it a chance!

It had me at hello.... But it took me a while to get comfortable with all it's little quirks. When I switch roms, and have to reinstall it, I realize how happy I am to have it. I really dislike the stock keyboard now.
 
Is the 5612 the latest beta or is there a newer one? I found the 5612 but I dont' know if there is a newer one I should be installing.

Guess I'll be dusting it off and giving it a shot... again :cool:

Not sure.... If you have one and it works, run it. Apparently, it is going to be very hard to find soon.

I am by no means a speedy typer, but with swype I am like 5x faster than without. And it is comfortable, once you get the hang of it. I find it easier in portrait than in landscape, also.
 
I signed up for the beta about a week ago, and got it in an email today. They are adding new users just sign up if you want the legal version
 
HELP!

I just downloaded the new beta and it says it wasn't compatible with my phone and would have limited functions. Now, it won't swype...just tap.

I would recommend uninstalling and re-downloading and trying again. It took me 2 times to get it right last night when I did it.
 
Also you might have to remove some versions of Swype via abd if you have one of the versions that isn't above board, just check out some of the Swype threads at XDA for some copy and paste abd commands for this
 
On the day that my Swype died, I got the e-mail invite for the Beta. Coincidence, I don't know, but either way, I'm swyping away still and loving it as always. :D

Mine won't swipe either. Just tap. Going to uninstall it. I emailed support but no reply.
 
Try installing it over the version you just did. That's what fixed mine among a bunch of other root related issues.
