Help Swype?

Signed up for the beta and downloaded. Works pretty good. Thanks for the link

Yep since i had the Epic, and using my Galaxy Tab i am obsessed with Swype when i am not using my physical keyboard. download it from beta.swype.com registered because its open for anyone now. and it works like a charm.

I tested out my texting using keyboard, swype and screen keyboard. I was the slowest with the swype. I think it takes some getting used to. I definitely prefer the onscreen keyboard.

I downloaded swype from the beta site, worked for one day and now it fails to work, get that annoying tone when trying to swype a word

When you turn your phone off and on, you have to reload swype every time. Happens to me as well, its a temporary app i guess. So uninstall the swype app not the instal swype app and then after you delete the app go into the install swype app and reload it back on your phone. its quite annoying every time you turn your phone off...

You don't have to uninstall and reinstall for it to work, what i do is once I reboot the phone i change the input type back to android then back to swype and it starts working again with no problems.

thanks it worked

actually it stopped working again, it seems that each time I want to use swype I have to change the input method and then revert back to get it to work

If it's doing it every time then yes i would go through the uninstall-reinstall process to see if it fixes it. But i do know that on reboots the method i described fixes it for me permanently.

Another onscreen keyboard app is SlideIT (you can get download it to try from the market). After trying it on my Hero I liked it so much I bought it, just bought a Shift yesterday so I'm using it there too and am actually surprised how little I'm using the actual keyboard so far.
