sync from Gmail

Hi everyone,

I made a bunch of changes in my contact list from my Google email account. I did this from my laptop. I also did a factory reset on my phone. Of course when I set it up again it downloaded my contact list from Gmail. All good. But I'm unclear about how the sync process works. If I make more changes from Gmail, shouldn't they be reflected on my phone after the next sync (I don't think it did last time)? How often does it sync? Can I "push" a sync?

Droid X on PP

Thanks!

The last changes made sync to the Gmail account, regardless of where you made them. IOW, if done on a computer, they sync to your phone. If done on your phone, changes sync to the computer.

Sync options vary by device, check your manual. I have my Nexus 4 set to sync changes immediately. You should be able to force a sync in 'System settings > Accounts' somewhere.

You should be able to see under Settings > Accounts > Google the last time it sync'd.

In there you can even toggle off and on gmail and contacts to force a sync.
