Help Sync gmail problem

I did something to mess sync up. Even though I have set up gmail to sync to the best of my abilities, it still doesn't work. I'm fairly unskilled android user.

In attempt to stop lollipop system upgrade notifications I disabled and cleared cache from one of the motorola services. I dont know which one. Since it didn't stop system update to bug me every half hour, i re-enabled it. However now gmail wont sync unless i tell it to do so manually. I tried resetting the phone (power long press) and turning it off and on again. The problem persists.

It does sync on its own, but every couple of hours. It used to update me with new email as soon as one arrived.

I have regular, unrooted 4.4.4 Moto G 2013. Due to numerous problems with android 5.02 on my nexus 7, I don't want to update my moto g.

Help much appreciated.

I found the solution. The key was this information:

"Gmail doesn't have dedicated sync module. It makes use of global Google Services Framework and Account sync module."

Once I learned this, the fix was as simple as finding "Google Services Framework" and deleting cashe and data of this app and turning my phone off and on. That's it. Gmail works perfectly as it once did.
