Help SYNC Icon won't go away & its draining my battery

Just recently in the upper right corner to the left of the H+ symbol, there's been a 2 arrow half circle symbol. I'm guessing its for syncing. The thing is it never goes away and until it popped up I had great battery life. Now the battery died after being uncharged for 9 hours. I haven't installed any new apps, and the only thing I have that would sync would be gmail. I looked in prior post and they all deal with Droid X so if anyone with an atrix has had this problem some help would be appreciated.

Go into settings, accounts and sync, and find the culprit that is causing the unending sync. You can stop it, but it might be better to know what it is so we can help.

I tried that, nothing was working so i just factory reset it and restored some things using TB. But thanks for the reply.
