Help Sync @live.com to Galaxy S II

mst

Lurker
Just got the phone and im now looking to sync my e-mail accounts. With Microsoft i've got 2, a @hotmail.co.uk account and @live.com one. The hotmail one I use for any random unimportant stuff and the other I use for more formal and official business. So i've managed to set up my @hotmail.co.uk account without any problems but when I try to do the same with the @live.com one and it doesnt work, ive seen suggested that I need a Plus account but anyone know a solution without having to pay to upgrade my account?

Works for me. Just select the first option for premium account & type in your email address/pass. It works for me. Except that it is not a true IMAP account. It is more like the POP accounts of old. It does not change the read status of mails if you read them on your phone/PC.

Anyways try it out & see.

I'd recommend checking to see if ActiveSync is available for both. I'm fairly sure it's an option for Hotmail (versus setting it up as POP).

I've got two live.co.uk accounts set up OK in the Android email client. Try the following settings.
Select Exchange Server
Server/URL m.hotmail.com
Domain\username; \ABCDEFG@live.co.uk ..... i.e you own full email address and make sure the back slash at the start is included.
SSL; enable

Also set sync schedule to Push. This supposedly saves battery life by not checking on a schedule but the server pushing out mail when it arrives.

yes, im pretty sure u can add a live account to android email n sync it.. make sure u select manual setup and enter details as mentioned in the post above. should sync fine, and get ur mail pushed to ur phone
