Help Sync phone question

So when I sync my yahoo email all my email people show up in phones contacts tab. If I do this than when i go to email I can simple pick from one of those people in yahoo's contacts and send them a message. If I dont sync it up than there is no more yahoo contacts. Does anybody know if you can have all your contacts with yahoo but not in phone contacts ?

go to contacts--menu--display options. you can choose which group you want.
