How do I transfer them to the computer?

I think it is very simple....create a folder on your pc, hook up your usb cord to the pc as a disk drive and your phones folders should appear on the pc's screen, drag the files you want to move to the folder on the pc....

You'll find them in the DCIM/MEDIA100 folder on your SD card.

In addition to plugging in and drag and drop (easily, most straightforward way) you can also try either ASTRO File Manager or EStrongs File Manager, free from the Market, to move them via wifi or Bluetooth.

Oh, sorry, shoulda said - long-press on the source file, either machine - Choose Edit and from there, Copy.

Goto the target machine, target folder and then Menu -> Edit -> Paste.

Pops up a dialog showing the source copy in, and the target copy out.
