Help Sync with computer

On my first droid x when I hooked up the usb it came up with my phone and a list of options to do like looks at pics or transfer pics ,ect.
Now that I have a replacement phone it comes up with a list of folders. When I click on photos or vids there are none in the folder. But when I take the usb cable off they are still on my sd card in the phone. Whats going on here?
Any help would be appreciated.
