Help sync

I have a htc 4 g that i would like to sync to my pc so that I can load music on it. I load a sync program but it does not find my phone??

What program, just use the htc sync included, when you connect your phone select disk drive then on the computer go to the removable drive and go into the htc sync folder, from there just install the program
