Synching

So I updated my contacts online 20 min ago and it's still not updated on the phone. Sometimes it seems to update within seconds, other times like now it's been ages.

It's a brand new phone (Nexus S) and I am connected to wifi at home. What am I doing wrong?

But is there anyway to specify how often it syncs? How often does itnormally do it?

I haven't had mine but a couple of days and I've had a very heavy travel schedule for work. As I become more familiar I will report back.

I use a app called power widgets.
Click Here
It has all the different switches in one bar, gps, wifi, brightness, etc..
One of the switches is Auto Sync. So i can turn it off when i dont need to stay up to date and want to save battery... then when i turn it on it updates instantly.. its a good app. Deffinetly helps with battery usage when everything is turned off.
