I have been trying to sync my calendar from google to my lg optimus t but when I go to the accounts and sync settings and then to the google account it doesnt have the option to sync calendar. What do I do?

Welcome to the forums, avatargirl.
You may need to start over with the Google/Gmail account (big pain, I know
).
Go into the application manager and remove cache, data and defaults from Gmail and Gmail storage.
When prompted after reboot, set things up the way you want them, being sure to include calendars.
