Help syncing contacts issues ?

[Buckeye Boy]

how come i have 96 phone contacts but when i log into gmail, it only says i have 84 contacts? i see the 12 contacts on my phone but why wont they sync to gmail contacts? i went into accounts and everything is checked for syncing, and i also manually synced it but they still wont show?

Because they're set as phone contacts. I don't think there's any way to switch them other than manually entering them as Google contacts.

Did you use Backup Assistant?

From my experience, it can cause this discrepancy btwn what you see on phone and on Google.

The best resolution that's been reported so far seems to be to export all of your contacts to a CSV file, delete the contacts, and then import the CSV file into Gmail. Based on the reports this should ultimately leave you with all Gmail contacts.
