syncing droid with google calendar

I just purchased my first droid yesterday and am trying to get it to sync with my google calendar. All is successful, expect that events on the droid calendar show up as scheduled for three hours after I scheduled them on my google calendar. how do I reconcile this?
 
Hmmm.... check your android and your computer to make sure you're in the right timezone! :)
