Help Syncing google calendar with galaxy nexus calendar

Hi, I'm new to the Android world and need help with a basic issue (I'm not a very tech savvy person, so please bear with me).

I've had a Google calendar on my desktop for the past 2 years, which I love using, and used to sync this with the calendar on my old iPhone. When I set up the Google calendar, I did not set up a Google account, but used my hotmail email as the logon id "aaa@live.com". I also had the calendar linked to my Remember the Milk app on both my iPhone and desktop.

I recently got a Samsung Galaxy Nexus, and was required to set up a google account in order to use the features, which I did aaa@gmail.com. I was able to sync my emails from hotmail so I can receive on the nexus. I would now like to link my old Google calendar to the Calendar app on my nexus. Currently the calendar is listed as my new google account aaa@gmail.com.

Can someone please walk me through on how to do this?

Thanks

Hello and welcome to Android Forums. We have a forum specifically for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, where you most likely will get a faster answer for your concern.

Can't really walk you through it (never done it), but if you look to the right in Google Calendar, there's a "My calenders" list, and next to each one there's a drop down that has "Settings." If you choose that, there's a page that has both "Export Calendars" and "Import Calendars."

So I think you would export from the old one you've been using, and import it into the new one associated with the Google Account.

Here's a link to helpful page: Export your calendar - Google Calendar Help

Also, now is a good time to switch over to the Gmail account for mail. THere's no reason to use Hotmail. Gmail can include your hotmail address so that any emails somebody sends to it will go to Gmail, but going forward people will begin to adopt the Gmail address.
