Help Syncing Only Calendar

It is necessary for my wife to be able to see my work calendar, but she has neither the need nor the desire to see my work emails. On her Note 3 and my Note 4, I am able to add my work email account which is an exchange account and to instruct the these phones to sync only the calendar and not email or contacts. Since my wife was required to upgrade to a Note 5, I have been unable to add my work email to her phone and have it sync only the calendar. It continues to require that email must also sync.

I am aware that I can set the sync settings to manual sync which avoids syncing the email, but know requires that the calendar be regularly manually sync.

Is it possible to set the sync settings so that the calendar will auto sync, but the emails will not sync?

I am using Google's Calendar now, and it is not requiring any email apps to sync up with it.

In fact, until I started using the Google Calendar, I was experiencing a huge amount of difficulty in trying to get different calendar apps to sync up together.

Install Google Calendar on your phone. Sync it to your work calendar.
Now install Google Calendar on her phone under her account.
Then sync her Google calendar to your Google Calendar.

This way, no email accounts will be referenced.

Google's Calendar app, IMO, is really nifty with all of the different views that it can provide.

I just love the 'Event Mode' which ignores all intervening dates, it just shows up the next Event that is coming along the pike... and, as you scroll it up/dn, it stretches out the date that you are looking at and allows you to see more detail.

It has plenty of other modes to allow anyone to get the mode they like.
You might need the "Week at a glance" mode because of your work schedule.

but, I am thinking all she will want, is the Event Mode so that she can quickly see what is next on your Agenda so that she can schedule the next social event around your work schedule :)

there is a plus there for you/her.
She can add things to her Google Calendar and it will show up on your calendar if you want it to.
a bit of judicious Naming Constructs can keep things from getting confused:

Judy: church social at 12:00 with the girls...

you will see that title and it starts out with "Judy:" and you will ignore it, as it has nothing to do with your work day.
