Help Syncing Problems all around..w t f

Alright, so I've been noticing the last day or two, I haven't gotten many texts or emails as it seemed. Well I looked at my sync settings and under google mail the sync time was about an hour behind. When I synced it again, it would refresh to the current time. I don't know why it would do this? I couldnt even find a setting that allows you to set the times between syncs. Anyways..onto the text messaging issue.

I've been using my wife's phone to text myself to try and figure out this issue..

Example: I send a text from my wifes phone to mine. Few minutes go by, nothing. I turn the screen on my phone, and bam there is the text. It's almost like I have to make the phone wake up? I have no idea. If I however, let the phone go and do not turn the screen on, I WILL eventually get the text, although it might take 8-12 minutes or so. Very strange. Between this, and the notification light only blinking for a few minutes, and only in one LED color, I'll tell you what. This guy is missing his OG droid bigtime, because that phone > this phone, lol. Any suggestions?

*edit* I just set the sleep mode on my phone to *NEVER*, and it seemed to resolve the issue. Things sync as they should, HOWEVER this is the issue I had when I first got the phone, my phone would NEVER sleep. When I would look at the battery status the blue bar would be a solid line under the awake status. And now I'm sure it'll be the same because I told it to NEVER sleep. This greatly effects battery life, and makes it pretty bad. The funny thing is, this new syncing issue started like yesterday, and I've had my phones sleep mode set to automatic for like 2 weeks now, and stuff was syncing fine. Go figure.

Or would that have been too early in the day? Just a thought. I do think I have seen people here say they were getting, I believe, Arizonas time zone so could be that issue as well.

Just as an aside.

I have noticed weird issues like that in the last few days too. It seems that all of a sudden my phone has a mind of its own, ie. voice mails being deleted automatically, settings being changed. I hate all the beeps and vibrations so I set things to quiet but all of a sudden all the noise is back. I have had to reset all my settings.

Also my syncs are messed up just like you describe. Was there some update they sneaked in?

OK My phone has worked perfectly for months since I got it on release day, but in the last week or so it is having problems syncing emails, and the weather widget keeps coming up with my weather for your area. most times I can do a manual sync band the weather or email come back but I am wondering what happened for it to suddenly change and it sound to me like it changed for me about the same time it changed for the poster here too.

Were you able to resolve your issue? My phone all of a sudden just refuses to sync. I've turned the darn thing off, I've made sure that I have the sync options enabled. I've even turned the sync on and off. Nothing. Now I am unable to sync my email and have no contacts because some other thread suggested to clear the data.

I've had no sync for gmail until the ICS leak, which fixed it for about 3 days, now its happening again. The stock mail app will push the gmail, but I want to use the gmail app, especially the ICS version. This doesn't push again. Every single calender, facebook, sports/news notification will work except for the frigging gmail app. And yes I send crashes to google. Come on guys, let's get it working.
