Help Syncing

I've had my HTC Desire for a while now, but I've just bought myself a Ford Fiesta Titanium. The problem I'm having is getting the car to access the phonebook.

Before I had my phone synced with my google account. So when I did the factory restore, I bypassed signing into my google account, then stored a few names and numbers on the phones memory to see if the car can access my phonebook... which it could! So what I'm trying to find out:

Is there any way of being able to sync the my email from the google account, but not the contacts?

Hello minimadj.

If I understand correctly what you want to do, you can de-select autosync in your device under accounts and sync, and then manually sync the gmail and just don't sync contacts.

You'd have to leave autosync off in order to insure the contacts are never synced.
