Root SyndicateROM Frozen

flashed this as soon as it was released yesterday, haven't flashed the re released 1.0.1 or fixes yet though

I have this one as well, just plopped it on last night. Super impressed with the speed, looking forward to seeing how the battery lasts for everything. Haven't noticed any serious problems in the least.

My first time rooting and flashing ROMs and I can see why they say it's addicting like crack!

After I read about the Carrier IQ and saw that this rom wasn't posted on here and figured I'd throw this on here :)

But yea, I haven't run into any problems with this. Battery life has improved, phone is extremely smooth, and I still love the TouchWiz. I think I'll be sticking with this one for a while.

I got addicted to LauncherPro so I went with the Standard version and just used backed up apk files to put some of the other stuff back on.

I posted this question in another thread, but maybe it'll get a response here:

--Midnight has a bundle of zips for his BYOR incorporated. If I were to take those zips, could I then flash certain apps of my choosing from his list and have them work with this ROM? Or do they not play nice together? I can't see how they wouldn't work together, but wanted to know if someone had done something similar before.

Also, what I'd really like is to get the EB13 Clock app back as well. I'm not liking the Desk Clock too much, so I'd like to go back. I still have the EB13 update.zip file, which of course contains the clock .apk file, so I'm wondering how I could move that and make it work with this ROM...

I'm glad that this ROM has finally gotten a thread on this site.

This was the first one to have the Carrier IQ removed. I have seen that the Midnight and Bonsai ROM's have also followed suit.

This is my first rooting and ROM experience. I liked my phone before but now I love it.

I'm getting just as good battery life now w/ out Juice Defender as I was before w/ Juice running all the time.

That might work. I haven't tried any of the ROMs yet, I'm still reading on them, so I cannot tell you if this works or not.

Stew - I would suggest getting a hold of the app "setcpu". I put this on earlier today and set it to be "on demand" and battery life is incredible.

And I'm with ya...this phone was good before, but it's great now. So much faster than it was before. GPS gets a lock almost instantly, and among other things, I'm quite impressed.

What's the difference between "on demand" vs. "performance"?

Btw, has anyone figured out the ringtone issue with this ROM? I have tunes on my phone that I can't get to work as ringtones...and they used to. :(

performance is for performance (clock doesn't change) on demand underclocks your cpu until you do something that requires it to be clocked higher. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm 99% sure thats correct.

i just have it at 1200/1200 performance when my phone is on and 800/200 powersave when screen is off

Performance will take you from 0-60 instaneously. Depends on the kernal. Conservative will go by increments to meet the need. Either way = good imo

On Demand is exactly as it sounds...if your phone needs more juice, it gets it. As stated, you can set up profiles and such for when your screen is off vs. on, and all sorts of things.

Seems like you can really, REALLY tweak it, but I've just left it as "on demand" and it's been great.

Yeah, I've been thinking about getting that. Especially since I would need it to go to 1.2ghz.

I'm glad that Voodoo is finally making an appearance on the Epic!

I haven't had a chance to mess around with it yet. I've been running 1.0.2 since the 18th when they dropped it, but I haven't put any audio out to my car since then. I've heard good things about it, let's see if I can actually tell a difference.

I am heading to a concert tonight...I'll get a chance to test out the noisy environment setting on the microphone...

my first rom flashing experience is this rom and it's fantastic! in love with my phone all over again. i'm a bit confused though - on xda it says it's overclocked by default, but i read somewhere else you have to get setCPU to overclock it and that it's just at 1gz stock ..... can anyone clarify?

I think 1.0.2 set it to overclock, but don't hold me to that. I haven't flashed it yet.
