Welcome to the Android forums!
This is fine. Partition /system is used just for ROM (applications installed by phone manufacturer), so you don't need any free space on it, because (if you're not rooted) you can't save any data there. All applications and data are saved to /data on Android (or to SD card).

Well how do I get rid of some of this crap like amazonmp3 and qik that doesnt work for some reason... its running in the back ground sometimes and I dont use it.

I am rooted so does that mean I would have to actually specify that I want something save there if I was downloading apps? (I know I wouldn't do that) but for the sake of try to understand what information is going where....

best bet it to install a custom rom, second best, use the sdx bloat app remover

Yuppers. Custom ROMs are the way to go as they typically get rid of most of the Sprint BS anyway. A few things here and there need to say to make the system stable, but the Asphalt Demo for example can be removed.

If you're not going to put a custom ROM on, then I would suggest getting Titanium Backup or something similar and removing the apps that way.

A few ROMs I can suggest:

1. Anything ACS puts out (their Syndicate ROM Frozen is top notch)
2. Bonsai (you have to register on their own site to access it though)
3. Midnight - The dev is a great guy and he puts the absolute minimum in there so you can basically build it yourself with different apps and such. Hence the BYOR (build your own ROM). He lays the foundation and you simply build whatever you want on top of it. Think of it like an app buffet; choose what you want and leave the rest out.

I find these ROMs in the Android market?

Heh, not exactly. First you have to root your phone, and then you're able to download ROMs (XDA is probably the best place) to your SD card and flash them from there.

I think Kelmar put up a sticky thread in here which will contain just about everything you need to know about all of this. Read it. All. Then read it again. You need to get an understanding of what you're doing before just jumping in to all this or you'll get yourself into a heap of trouble and possibly ruin your device.

Put the time in up front so it's easier on the back end. Know what a kernal is. Know what a ROM is. Know what clockworkmod is and what is does. Know if you're flashing a ROM that's RFS or EXT4. If what I just typed would've been understood as well had I written it in Russian (assuming you don't speak Russian) then that's exactly why you need to go and READ.

I was at the same place you were about 2.5 months ago...knowing nothing about rooting or ROMs or anything. It doesn't take long to learn what's what. Once you start to learn these things, then you need to figure out exactly what you need.

The first thing I would start out with is a non-stock USB cable. You can get a blackberry one from amazon for about $1.50. For the love of everything holy, get one, you won't regret it. It's much more durable and reliable than the stock Samsung one you got with your phone.

I just leveled up in my droid experience... I tried to flash it at 11pm and I bricked it =( but after some scrambling I was able to zombie my epic and then lash it right. I had clockwork 2.5 and I should have 3.0 and it didnt like that. Once I brought it back with Odin thin I put the right version on and now I am FROZEN!!! Thanks for the advice my 4g runs much better now.

Heh, I hear ya. I learned a lot my first time around. The two (now three) versions of CWM really screwed with some people, no question about it.

Glad you got everything up and running! Now it's time to upgrade yet again to SRF 1.1.1. Booyah.

Can I pay someone to do this for me?? :D

Sure. It's really not hard though. I'm guessing if you peruse your local craigslist you'll be able to find someone on there who would do this for you. Problem with that is, if something happens a week or so after it happens, then what? Do you have to track them down again and hope they can fix what you screwed up?

I suggest spending the time reading and learning for yourself, so you can ultimately help yourself.
